Nascent Figments is nascent!

Hello! Today is ‘Nascent Figments’ birthday! I have officially published my website with most of my content! My content is incredibly personal but I live by my truths and I hide from no one. I share with you a part of me and I hope to create and relate. I will be posting some blog posts here from time to time—I haven’t decided on what exactly I’ll talk about but if you’re interested at all in what I have to say, check back here every so often (or subscribe to my newsletter on the ‘Contact me’ page) for not only new blog posts but also new poems. I start graduate school soon, so I won’t have a lot of free time, but because life can’t just be my nose in a book, I have to also decompress, and writing is a way for me to decompress. Plus, I’ve promised myself to keep up with my creations and I intend to keep that promise.

My poems have all come from a little black notebook I carry with me everywhere. That black notebook saved me. Early 2020, I went through some devastating depression (I went and got diagnosed), and I decided that I needed to write my thoughts out. It started out as a word vomit book and I just wrote anything and everything that came to my mind—bad and good. In the beginning, that black notebook started forming its own creations and out of my despair, sooner or later, I had some works that, well…worked. I felt the '“happys” slowly creeping back in as I wrote more and more. My work might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I’m extremely proud of myself and I needed somewhere to document my poems should anything happen to my little black notebook. I also didn’t want to have my work stuck in a google doc— I wanted something semi-official. And here it is.
